Terms of Use and Sale
Effective date: October 13, 2026 · Last updated: October 13, 2026
The short version
- Setup Coach is $19, tax included, paid once, for every kid in the family.
- You get the step-by-step walkthroughs for as long as we offer Setup Coach, plus an email when a verified setting changes for 12 months (starting when you buy or redeem a code, or when we send our first change alert, whichever is later).
- It's not a subscription, and nothing renews automatically. If you choose to renew later, renewal extends only the change-alert emails.
- Full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked.
- Guidance, not a guarantee. Not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the companies named.
- You must be 18 or older to buy.
These terms are an agreement between you and us. We've kept them as plain as we can. The parts in bold capital letters limit our responsibility, so please read those carefully.
1. Who we are
Raising Bytes is a business name used by The Sales Hustle LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company (The Sales Hustle LLC d/b/a Raising Bytes). "We," "us," and "our" mean that company. "You" means the person using the site or buying Setup Coach.
- Email: hello@raisingbytes.com
- Website: raisingbytes.com
How payment works. Checkout is run by Stripe. When your checkout page says "Sold through Link," Link (Stripe's checkout service) is the merchant of record for the payment, and your receipt comes from Link. Your card statement shows the charge under the name on your receipt.
If Link is the merchant of record, Link's own terms and privacy policy, shown at checkout, cover the payment itself. We provide Setup Coach, and these terms cover Setup Coach.
2. When these terms apply
These terms apply when you use raisingbytes.com or buy or use Setup Coach. By buying Setup Coach, or redeeming a Setup Coach code, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't buy or use Setup Coach. The free parts of the site (the checklist, guides, and printables) are also covered by Sections 7 to 9 and 12 to 18.
3. Who can use Setup Coach
- You must be 18 or older and a parent, legal guardian, or caregiver of the children you're setting up devices for.
- This site and our emails are for adults. They aren't directed to children under 13, and kids shouldn't buy or use Setup Coach on their own.
- Setup Coach is designed for families in the United States. Settings and features can differ in other countries.
4. What you get with Setup Coach
When you buy Setup Coach, or redeem a Setup Coach code, you get:
- Step-by-step walkthroughs for setting up parental controls on iPhone and iPad, Android (with Google Family Link), YouTube, Roblox, TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, and Fortnite. Each step says which device to use and what to try if a menu has moved.
- Printables: an agreement poster, a sitter sheet, a fridge card, and scripts for the hard talks.
- Walkthrough access for as long as we offer Setup Coach. The walkthroughs don't stop after 12 months. If we ever stop offering Setup Coach, we'll email buyers before the walkthroughs go offline.
- Change-alert emails for 12 months: an email when a setting we've verified changes for the devices and apps Setup Coach covers. Your 12 months start on the day you buy or redeem a code, or on the day we send our first change alert, whichever is later. We'll email you when alerts begin.
Updates. Apps change their menus often, so we update, add, or retire steps and walkthroughs as things change. You always get the current version.
Not included: one-on-one help, setting up a console's own family group, and tech support for your devices or accounts.
Renewal. When your 12 months of change alerts end, you can renew them for $15 a year (renewals open later). Nothing renews automatically. Renewal extends only the change-alert emails. Your walkthroughs stay available whether or not you renew. We'll never charge you again unless you choose to renew.
Codes. Gift codes and group codes get you the same Setup Coach, and they never expire. When codes are offered, they come with their own terms, which we'll post on this site.
5. Price, payment, and tax
- Setup Coach costs $19, tax included, paid once. It's priced per family, never per child.
- If you're buying from outside the US, checkout may show the price converted into your local currency, and your bank or card issuer may charge its own conversion fees.
- Any sales tax that applies is already included in the $19.
6. How access works, and how to get it back
- No account and no password. After you pay, the browser you paid in saves a secure cookie that unlocks Setup Coach. Open raisingbytes.com/setup in that same browser and Setup Coach opens on its own.
- Use the browser you'll set up with. Access is saved in one browser, not your whole device. Private or Incognito windows forget it when you close them. If you came from an app like Instagram or Facebook, open raisingbytes.com/setup in Safari or Chrome before you buy.
- Getting access back. If you lose access (for example, you switch phones or browsers or clear your browser's data), go to raisingbytes.com/kit/restore. We'll email you a one-time link that works for 24 hours. Or email hello@raisingbytes.com from the email you used at checkout (or tell us which email that was), and we'll send you a link that unlocks Setup Coach again.
- Your unlock link is for your family. Please don't post or share it.
7. Your family license, and what you can't do
- We give you a personal license to use Setup Coach for your own family. That means the children you're a parent, guardian, or caregiver for, including kids who live with you part of the time. You can't transfer it, and it covers only that use. Another adult caring for your kids (a co-parent or grandparent, for example) may follow the steps with you.
- Please don't:
- resell Setup Coach, or share your access or unlock link outside your family
- copy, publish, or redistribute the walkthroughs, printables, or emails
- use Setup Coach to run a setup service for other families, or as part of a class or product of your own
- scrape or bulk-download the site.
- You may print the printables for use in your own home. Schools, PTAs, employers, and groups: ask us about group codes at hello@raisingbytes.com.
- We keep all rights in Raising Bytes and Setup Coach, including the text, drawings, and design. App and device names belong to their owners.
8. Guidance, not a guarantee
- Raising Bytes gives guidance, not a safety guarantee. Apps and devices change their settings and menus often. A walkthrough can be out of date or contain mistakes, even though we check each step against the company's help page.
- Each device's controls cover that device only, filters miss things, and kids find workarounds. No setting can promise your child's safety.
- You decide what's right for your family. You're responsible for your own devices, accounts, passcodes, and settings. If a company's own instructions differ from ours, follow the company's.
- Raising Bytes is not legal, medical, or mental-health advice, and it's not a substitute for professional help.
- If a child is in danger, call 911. For a mental-health crisis, call or text 988 (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). To report online exploitation of a child, use the CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org). Raising Bytes doesn't file reports and can't respond to emergencies.
9. Not affiliated with any app or device company
Raising Bytes is independent. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple, Google, YouTube, Epic Games, Roblox, TikTok, Snap, Instagram or Meta, or any other company or app we mention. We use their names only to describe what our walkthroughs cover.
10. Change-alert emails
- We send change alerts for 12 months, starting on the day you buy or redeem a code, or on the day we send our first change alert, whichever is later. They go to the email you used at checkout, or the email you gave when you redeemed a code. You can stop them anytime with the unsubscribe link.
- We decide which changes we've verified well enough to send. We won't catch every change the moment it happens.
- If we stop the alerts early: if we stop sending change alerts before your 12 months are up (for example, because we stop offering Setup Coach), we'll tell you by email, and you can get your full $19 back on request. Short outages and pauses don't count, and neither does unsubscribing yourself. If you redeemed a code, that refund goes to the person who paid for the code.
11. Refunds
Full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked. See the Refund policy below. Gift and group codes have their own refund terms.
12. NO WARRANTIES
EXCEPT FOR THE REFUND PROMISES IN THESE TERMS, RAISING BYTES, SETUP COACH, AND EVERYTHING ON THIS SITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT SETUP COACH WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR ALWAYS AVAILABLE, OR THAT FOLLOWING IT WILL PREVENT ANY PARTICULAR HARM.
13. LIMIT ON OUR LIABILITY
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT RAISING BYTES OR SETUP COACH IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR SETUP COACH (USUALLY $19). WE AREN'T LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, or for harm caused by third-party apps, devices, content, or other people.
Some states don't allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits any liability the law doesn't allow us to limit, or any rights you have that can't be waived.
14. Your part
- Give us an email address you can receive mail at.
- Don't enter a child's full name. A nickname or initial is enough, and it's optional.
- Follow each app's own rules, including its age rules.
- Keep your device passcodes and account passwords to yourself. We'll never ask for them.
15. Your information
Our Privacy page explains what we collect, why, who handles it, and how to delete it. That includes the optional child details you can add in Setup Coach: a nickname or initial, birth month and year, and the devices and apps you set up.
16. Changes to Setup Coach or these terms
- We may update these terms. When we do, we'll post them here with a new date. If a change is significant, we'll also email Setup Coach buyers before it takes effect.
- Changes won't take away what you've already paid for: walkthrough access while we offer Setup Coach, and your 12 months of alerts. If a change significantly reduces what you bought, you can ask for a refund.
- We may suspend access if someone breaks Section 7 (for example, by reselling access). If that happens, we'll tell you why. If we end your access for any other reason, we'll refund you.
17. North Carolina law, and how we'll handle disagreements
- Talk to us first. Most problems can be fixed by email. Write to hello@raisingbytes.com, and we'll try to resolve it within 30 days.
- North Carolina law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
- Small claims is always an option. Either of us may bring a claim in small claims court, in your county or in Guilford County, North Carolina, if it qualifies. Other cases go to the state or federal courts in Guilford County, North Carolina, unless the law where you live gives you the right to sue there.
- You keep any rights the law where you live gives you that can't be waived by contract.
18. Other things
- These terms, the Refund policy, the Privacy page, and the gift and group code terms (where they apply) are the whole agreement about Setup Coach.
- If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
- If we move Raising Bytes to a new company (for example, a new Raising Bytes LLC), these terms and your purchase move with it.
19. Contact
Questions about these terms or your purchase: hello@raisingbytes.com
Refund policy
Full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked.
How to ask
- Email hello@raisingbytes.com within 30 days of buying, from the email you used at checkout (or tell us which email that was).
- "Refund" in the subject line is enough. You don't need to give a reason, and there's no form.
- If your checkout said "Sold through Link," you can also contact Link support, which handles payments for us.
How you get your money back
- We refund the full $19 (tax was already included) to your original payment method.
- We'll start your refund within 2 business days of your email.
- Banks usually show it within about 5 to 10 business days. If you ask soon after buying, the charge may simply disappear from your statement instead of showing as a separate refund.
What happens after a refund
- Your Setup Coach access ends.
- Change alerts stop for you.
- We delete the child details we stored for you (nickname or initial, birth month and year, and the devices and apps you set up). A copy saved in your own browser goes away when you clear that browser's data.
- We keep only the payment record we need for tax and accounting. Stripe, and Link if it handled your payment, keep their own payment records under their own policies.
After 30 days
- No refunds after 30 days, with two exceptions:
- if we stop the change alerts before your 12 months are up, you can get the full $19 back on request (Terms, Section 10)
- where the law requires a refund.
Gift and group codes: codes never expire. Unredeemed codes can be refunded to the buyer within 30 days of purchase. Redeemed codes can't be refunded, except that the buyer gets back what they paid for the code if we stop the change alerts before the redeeming family's 12 months are up or retire Setup Coach. Codes come with their own terms.
