What stays on your device

The ages you pick and the apps you tick stay in the page address after the # (for example /checklist#kids=…). Browsers do not send that part to the server, so it does not reach our host's logs. Links made before 30 Sep 2026 put the ages and apps in the address itself, as ?kids=. When someone opens one of those old links, the host sees those ages and apps once, and this page then moves them after the #. Your progress is saved only in this browser. A copy of that plan address is also kept in this browser's sessionStorage so it can be restored after checkout. A nickname, ticked boxes, and anything you type into the family agreement stay in this browser too. They are not put in the link, in logs, or in error reports. If you clear this browser's saved data, they are gone. You can also print the checklist yourself. The Full Family Kit PDF is built in this browser and is not uploaded. After a paid checkout, this browser stores a signed kit_access cookie that says the kit is unlocked. That cookie includes the buyer's email. A kit_device cookie stores a device id for this browser.

What our host sees

Like every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically receives basic technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page path. It does not receive the part of the address after #. A shared plan link keeps ages and app names in that fragment, which is how another parent can open the same plan. It does not include a child's name. We don't use the technical information to identify you, and we don't combine it with anything else. If you buy the kit, Stripe receives the card and the email you type on their checkout page. Ages and apps are not sent to Stripe. After a paid checkout, this browser stores a signed cookie that says the kit is unlocked. If you ask for the kit again, we email a one-time link to that same checkout address. A short device id for that purchase is stored on the Stripe Checkout Session so the kit can stay on a few family devices. Recovery emails are sent through Resend. You don't need an account to use the checklist.

Change alerts

If you ask for a change alert, we store your email, the fact that you checked "I'm a parent or caregiver 18+", and an optional list of app names. We do not store a child's name, age, or nickname with that request. The email stays unsubscribed until you open the confirm link. After that, the address can receive an email when a setting changes for an app you picked. Nothing else.

Resend (resend.com) stores the contact, including the app names on a contact property called apps, and sends the confirmation email. The contact is also added to a Resend segment named "Raising Bytes change alerts" so those emails can be sent as a broadcast. Vercel hosts this site and receives the subscribe, confirm, and unsubscribe requests. We keep the contact until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link and a postal address in the footer. That link stops future alerts and leaves the address on file. The unsubscribe page has a delete button that removes the contact from Resend. You can also email hello@raisingbytes.com and ask us to delete it.

No tracking

We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. Fonts and scripts are part of this site. We don't load them from another company at runtime.

Children

This site is for parents and caregivers. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. There is no kid mode.

Getting the kit again

When you ask for the kit again, our server checks your email against Stripe and sends the link through Resend. We don't keep it anywhere else. Stripe keeps the purchase record, and the device ids for the 3-device limit, on the Checkout Session.

Changes

The paid kit is still assembled in this browser. Stripe handles the payment and the receipt email. Change alerts, described above, are the only list this site keeps.
