Netflix does not publish a numeric minimum age for a household account. A Kids profile, a maturity rating, title blocks, and a profile PIN are account tools. The main profile cannot be a Kids profile.

  1. Add a Kids profile

    A Kids profile is a separate profile with a kids experience. The main profile cannot be turned into a Kids profile.

    1. Add Profile, then choose Kids Profile (For Kids).
    2. Use that profile for the child. Do not share the main profile's password as a shortcut.

  2. Set the maturity rating and block titles

    Each profile can have a maturity limit and blocked titles. Ratings on a Kids profile are edited in a web browser.

    1. Account, Profiles, Adjust parental controls.
    2. Set the maturity rating for the child's profile, and block any titles you do not want.
    3. If it is a Kids profile, do this in a browser.

  3. Lock the adult profile with a PIN

    A 4-digit Profile Lock stops a Kids profile from opening an adult one. You can also require a PIN before anyone adds a new profile.

    1. Account, Profiles, the adult profile, Profile Lock. Set a 4-digit PIN.
    2. Turn on Require a PIN to add a new profile.
