- Turn friend requests off if you want to approve people yourself another way, or leave them on and review the list.

- Update the official edition.
- If they play a modded copy, assume these switches are not there and use the device or console controls instead.

On Java Edition, use reporting and hidden messages

Java Edition has player reporting and a way to hide one player's messages. Java Edition uses a Microsoft account, so multiplayer and Realms access still follow the child's Xbox family settings.
- Show your child how to report a player.
- Show them how to hide a player's messages.
